Las Vegas Day Two - Elvis Wedding Ceremony

Today was a special one. After waking up and getting our best Elvis gear on, we drove to the North end of the Las Vegas strip to the Graceland Wedding Chapel where I had organised for Elvis to perform a renewal of vows service.

We arrived early (as usual), signed in and then had some photos taken with Carla before the big moment - the arrival of Elvis.

Elvis lead Mandy up the aisle whilst singing "Can't Help Falling In Love" which he also made me sing the last few words to. Then he said a few words before letting Mandy and I exchange some vows that we had pre-written. After that Elvis made us repeat some of his special vows including Mandy taking me as her "hunk-a-hunk-a burnin' love" and me promising to "Love her Tender".

Finally, Elvis let rip with a version of "Viva Las Vegas" which we loved but unfortunately made Carla cry. However, a quick cuddle and a smile from Elvis and she was fine.

Then a few last photos with the King and signing the certificate and we were remarried Vegas style. A brilliant morning, I really loved the chance to remind Mandy how much she meant to me, and to share it with Carla made it just perfect.

I would HIGHLY recommend any couples visiting Vegas to do this. Go to the Graceland Chapel (http://www.gracelandchapel.com) and ask for Brendan as Elvis. Worth every dollar.

This afternoon we took a drive to the Hoover Dam. Not a lot to report there really. It was a big dam. Well, actually it was a lot smaller than we were both expecting (especially after seeing those Superman movies). Carla fell asleep, we drove over the dam to Arizona, turned around and drove back. Only stopped quickly on the side of the road to take that photo. I'm sure it's fascinating and all, but we'd had enough excitement for one day.

Tomorrow we're back on the road to Fresno en route to San Francisco.
